Geotechnical engineering for the development of the Roydvale Park industrial subdivision in Christchurch.

ENGCO was engaged to undertake soil investigations, liquefaction and settlement analysis and write up a geotechnical report recommending foundation solutions for the proposed tilt panel industrial buildings.

The site is a subdivision which is located on top of a discontinued gravel quarry that was subsequently infilled using construction waste.

The excavation was bulk filled, non-engineered and solutions had to be found such that the tilt panel industrial buildings shall not experience exaggerated differential settlements.

Due to the nature of the project, boreholes, CPTs and standard DCP tests were carried out.
