Geotechnical investigation & reporting, structural design and construction monitoring of 58 townhouses as part of the East Frame residential development.
Geotechnical investigation & reporting, structural design and construction monitoring of 58 townhouses as part of the East Frame residential development.
The townhouses consist of two & three-storey structures, constructed from concrete, steel, timber and concrete block.
The foundation system for each block is a TC2 Ribraft over deep
ground improvement.
The first TC2 and TC3 Ribraft was developed by ENGCO in partnership with Firth, after the Canterbury Earthquakes. The system has proven to be highly successful and has been adopted throughout NZ to deal with earthquake prone liquefiable sites.
Other critical factors include the optimisation of traditional construction in a townhouse setting.
Feedback from the client and contractors has been very positive as the design has been both efficient and easy to build.
