ENGCO were engaged to provide civil and structural engineering services for this four-storey 4750m2 building in Christchurch.
The Regent was shortlisted for the Te Kāhui Whaihanga New Zealand Institute of Architects’ Canterbury Architecture Awards in 2025.
The building consists of ground floor retail with three floors of office space above.
The primary structure is a two-way moment-resisting frame, allowing for large bay spacing and maximum flexibility of the floor space within tenancies, on shallow foundations.
Civil engineering design included site earthworks, car park pavement and services in and out of the building.
